Building Community Harmony
,Adjacent to the Mennonite Church of Normal (MCN or church) is a residential area consisting of 26 homes and a community building. The complex was originally envisioned, in the mid 1990s, by a group of church members, who, with support from MCN, incorporated an entity separate from the church to design, build, own, maintain, manage and lease the property. The property and the owner are both referred to as the Mennonite Residential Community (MRC).
MRC provides an alternative residential opportunity aimed at people in the late career and early retirement stage of life. While not being a requirement to be Mennonite, the people who live in MRC are active in the community, enjoy and appreciate the mutually supportive atmosphere and are spiritually engaged and committed to the Church’s Vision.
